RIBEX has been renamed The Powerboat and RIB Show in line with major changes that will make the event even more exciting and accessible for visitors.
The event has been staged for the last 13 years in Weymouth, Southampton and, until this year, Cowes, under the name of RIBEX.
However, this year organisers are preparing to propel the event to new heights with a new name, new location and other initiatives that they predict will elevate it to the next level.
As well as being held at prestigious Portsmouth venue, Gunwharf Quays, for the first time in May, the exhibition will now feature powerboats of every description, making it the only show representing the entire powerboat market under 45ft.
It will also be completely free for visitors, making it much more accessible and the only free outdoor, on water boat show in the UK.
Organiser, Hugo Montgomery-Swan, said: “This is an incredibly exciting time and both the change of name and free entry really marks a huge step in the evolution of the show.
“The new venue will be a great benefit to visitors, who will be able to take advantage of Gunwharf Quays’ many shops, restaurant and entertainment venues while they are at the show.”
Taking place from May 11 to 13 and featuring a host of special exhibits from leading names within the international marine industry, it is expected to attract between 80,000 and 100,000 people over the weekend.
Among the attractions will be a wide selection of RIBs, powerboats and associated products for sale, the opportunity to trial boats on the open water and free RIB rides.
